Providence Hospital becomes the First Aetna Institute of Quality® (IOQ) Orthopedic Care Facility in DC

Providence Hospital was designated as an Aetna Institute of Quality® (IOQ) Orthopedic Care Facility – Total Joint Replacement on July 8, 2010, becoming the first and only in the district to receive this honor. This certification designates the hospital as a comprehensive orthopedic treatment center that provides both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Aetna selects hospitals and facilities in the Aetna network as “Institutes of Quality” based upon an evaluation of the clinical performance and overall value of the facilities, taking into consideration patient access to high-quality, cost-effective care and distinguished performance for health services that are critical to patients.
